BRINGING OUR TALENT BACK: CARICOOS NEW POSTDOCS

We are happy to announce that Juan González and Patricia Chardón are now back in CARICOOS! Just a few years ago they were Masters students under the mentorship of Aurelio Mercado and Miguel Canals, respectively. They went on to get their PhDs and have now completed the circle. Dr. González is CARICOOS operational modeling postdoc. He specializes in tides and currents, but also assists in all matters related to data management. He received a PhD in Environmental Fluid Dynamics from Notre Dame for his work on regional and coastal hydrodynamics around Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Dr. Chardón graduated from the University of Delaware with a PhD in Coastal Engineering. Her highly observational work focused on swash zone and inner surf zone hydrodynamics and sediment transport. She now occupies the observing system engineer position and assists in oceanographic modeling efforts. Welcome back to the team!
